Our People

A specialist in finance, securities, and valuation, Mr. Visbal has significant experience calculating economic damages; evaluating mergers and acquisitions; and valuing private and public companies, intangible assets, and fixed income, derivative, and other financial instruments. He has performed complex analyses in securities, bankruptcy, and solvency-related cases, including developing econometric models to measure the impact of news disclosures and accounting variables on stock price returns, default probabilities, and credit ratings. Mr. Visbal has managed case teams in the assessment of damages related to securities fraud, the valuation of exotic derivative securities used as tax shelters, and the estimation of lost profits and lost earnings. In addition, he has analyzed and examined the suitability of investments for large institutional investors and has advised clients in Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) investigations.

Mr. Visbal has also provided economic analysis and litigation consulting to governments and private corporations in Latin America. For example, he has calculated damages and valued an oil company in Ecuador, assessed the financial health of a bank in Paraguay, assisted with the examination of a proposed joint venture in Mexico, valued the manufacturing subsidiary of a global consumer goods company in Argentina, and analyzed the securities portfolio of several financial institutions in Colombia.
